This is a small personal website. I use limited analytics to understand whether the site works, which parts are useful, and when something breaks. I do not sell your personal information.
What this site collects
When you visit, the site may automatically collect basic technical and usage information, including:
- the page you viewed and the referring page;
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, device, operating system, and user-agent information;
- an anonymous visitor or session identifier; and
- interactions such as clicking the email or LinkedIn links, downloading the résumé, and technical errors.
The site does not have an account system, payment form, or contact form. If you email me, your message is handled by your email provider and mine, not by the website analytics described here.
PostHog analytics
This site uses PostHog for product analytics and error diagnostics. Analytics requests are sent through a custom aidenkt.com endpoint and processed using PostHog’s service.
PostHog may use cookies or similar browser storage to distinguish visits and sessions. The information sent to PostHog can include the technical and interaction data listed above and, if enabled in the analytics configuration, a replay of on-page interactions. PostHog processes that information on my behalf so I can measure site usage and diagnose problems.
How the information is used
I use this information only to:
- understand general traffic and how visitors use the site;
- measure whether links and downloads are useful;
- maintain security and prevent abuse; and
- find and fix errors.
Sharing and retention
Analytics data is shared with PostHog as the service provider that processes it. I do not sell or rent this data. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the site, its visitors, or others.
Data is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, subject to the retention settings available through PostHog. You may contact me to ask about or request deletion of information associated with you. Because most analytics are collected without your name, I may not always be able to connect an anonymous record to you.
Your choices
You can limit analytics storage by blocking cookies or site data in your browser, using a privacy or content-blocking extension, or clearing stored site data. Blocking analytics should not prevent you from reading the site.
Links to other services
This site links to services such as LinkedIn and your email application. Their privacy practices apply once you leave this site.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
